It is also a unique ecosystem with extraordinary biodiversity and a repository for valuable natural resources. Unfortunately, it also faces problems of piracy, terrorism, pollution, overfishing, drug trafficking, and people smuggling. What is being done to avoid a maritime tragedy of the commons?
